Artist / Maker
My current practice focuses on the fragility of the natural environment. I work in a broad range of Art disciplines using many materials often found and repurposed.
Having taught in secondary schools for too many years, I then worked freelance on many art projects. In particular, I facilitated the creation of ceramic and mosaic murals allowing participants to make their own tiles and contribute towards the whole piece. I have worked in numerous schools, community, and public settings.
I still welcome commissions, but I am currently creating a new body of my own work moving in a different direction, developing new skills incorporating fibre arts and sculpture.
Presently I have a series of pieces at Preston Park Museum, Stockton, which explore the fragility of the moth population at our local dune and shoreline habitat, and I am also creating some work looking at the local crustacean die-off.
